Natural Scene Derived Camera Edge Spatial Frequency Response for Autonomous Vision Systems

چکیده
The edge-based Spatial Frequency Response (e-SFR) is an established measure for camera system quality performance, traditionally measured under laboratory conditions. With the increasing use of Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) in autonomous vision systems, input signal becomes crucial optimal operation. This paper proposes a method to estimate e-SFR from pictorial natural scene derived SFRs (NSSFRs) as previously presented, laying foundation adapting traditional real-time measure. In this study, NS-SFR parameter variations are first investigated establish suitable ranges that give stable estimate. Using framework with ranges, e-SFR, per ISO 12233, estimated. Initial validation results obtained implementing measuring images linear and non-linear system. For system, closely approximate 12233 measurement. Non-linear measurements exhibit scene-dependant characteristics expected methods. requirements implement systems then discussed.

Natural scene text localization using edge color signature
Localizing text regions in images taken from natural scenes is one of the challenging problems dueto variations in font, size, color and orientation of text. In this paper, we introduce a new concept socalled Edge Color Signature for localizing text regions in an image. This method is able to localizeboth Farsi and English texts. In the proposed method rst a pyramid using diff...

Recently there has been growing interest in creating large-scale simulations of certain areas in the brain. The areas that are receiving the overwhelming focus are visual in nature, which may provide a means to compute some of the complex visual functions that have plagued AI researchers for many decades; robust object recognition, for example. Additionally, with the recent introduction of chea...

The detectability of a 9·0 c/deg sinusoidal grating was measured against various backgrounds: A blank field, a 3·0 c/deg grating and a 1·8 c/deg grating. Detection of the 9·0 c/deg grating was facilitated by suprathreshold 3·0 c/deg grating backgrounds (3·0 and 9·0 c/deg are first and third harmonics), but was not facilitated by 1·8 c/deg grating backgrounds (first and fifth harmonics). The res...
متن کاملAutonomous Camera Systems: A Survey
Autonomous cameras allow live events, such as lectures and sports matches, to be broadcast to larger audiences. In this work, we review autonomous camera systems developed over the past twenty years. Quite often, these systems were demonstrated on scripted stage productions (typically cooking shows), lectures, or team sports. We organize the discussion in terms of three core tasks: (1) planning...

Many of the known visual systems in nature are characterized by a wide field of view allowing animals to keep the whole surrounding environment under control. In this sense, dragonflies are one of the best examples: their compound eyes are made up of thousands of separate light-sensing organs arranged to give nearly a 360° field of vision. However, animals with eyes on the sides of their head h...
